Wilderness 1 is the pre-requisite for all of our classes and introduction to our Wilderness Method that begins your journey. It will open your eyes to truly appreciate the gifts Mother Earth has to offer whether you plan to enjoy a hike in the woods, go on camping trip, learn some basic survival skills, or start on your way to becoming a true scout. This class will awaken you to how capable you truly are, and show how fulfilling it is to shed the need for today's amenities that we, as a society, have grown so dependent on.
This course will cover the basic subjects of survival, which includes Shelter, Water, Fire, Food, Tracking, Awareness, and Movement.
Our Classes are designed for adults. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
For class preparation:
Meeting Place and Time will be determined per class, though most classes are held at our location in the hudson valley
What to Bring:
Water
Lunch / snacks
Dress in layers / dress appropriately for the weather
Knife (for those who need one, we have high quality standard ones for purchase onsite)
Insect repellent (mosquitoes, ticks, flies, gnats)
During the COVID-19 restrictions: Face mask, hand sanitizer
