There are many forms of life on the planet. Never forget about our single legged friends, the plants. In this class we will teach you the edible, medicinal, and utilitarian properties of some of our other brothers and sisters.

Pre Requisites: Plants 1

Trees are essential to life on Earth. Not only do they absorb pollutants and carbon dioxide, they also improve water (arrow 2), soil, and ecological conditions, while producing the oxygen we need to survive.  Trees are also valuable resources for survival, such as for shelther building (arrow 1), fire making (arrow 3), and producing fruit (arrow 4). Trees are nature's gift to us.

In this class, you will learn the basics of tree identification; their structure, bark, twigs, and buds.  You'll be guided through the woods and learn about their parts, uses and functions. The most common native species in the area will be reviewed and discussed. Identification of a tree can be hard if you only look at the leaf, but this class will also cover leaves, along with tips that tree identification books may miss. Walk through the forest with us and be introduced to the basics of this amazing resource.  

This class is a continuation of Tree ID 101, but goes further in depth into the tree environment and ecosystem, such as types of soil, wet or dry areas, and shade tolerance. More trees will be covered, including some of the common landscaping species. Proper care and handling techniques will also be discussed, as we further explore how to harvest this precious resource.

Here we will teach you of some of the values of the plants. Edeible, medicinal, utilitarian and poisonus plants and what they can do for us. Winter plants 1 is a very sought out class because NO ONE teaches plants that can be found throughout the winter.
