Wilderness 1 is our premier introductory course that begins your journey. It will open your eyes to truly appreciate the gifts Mother Earth has to offer. Awaken to how capable you truly are, and how fulfilling it is to shed the need for today's amenities that we, as a society, have grown so dependent on.
This course will cover the basic subjects of survival, which includes Shelter, Water, Fire, Food, Tracking, Awareness, and Movement.
For Class Preparations:
After you sign up for the course, you will receive an email to confirm your registration within a week leading up to the scheduled date, with more details pertaining to that specific day (as there may be changes due to weather, logistics or other field conditions).
However, note the following general information for meetup and the items to bring, to help you plan for class:
Meeting Place and Time:
Beacon Train Station, Beacon NY, on the Metro North Railroad, Hudson Line
Please meet by the underpass, by the flag poles, and keep an eye out for our van that’ll be standing by on the side of the track opposite the river.
What to Bring:
Lunch / snacks
Dress in layers / dress appropriately for the weather
Knife (for those who need one, we have high quality standard ones for purchase onsite)
Insect repellent (mosquitoes, ticks, flies, gnats)
