Shane Hobel - Founder & Lead Instructor
Shane Hobel, also known as 'White Feather' is the Founder and Lead Instructor of Mountain Scout Survival School. Training under Tom Brown Jr. since the early 1990's, Shane is amongst a class of the highest trained individuals in the United States today. He has been featured on Doomsday Preppers, Mansome, WPIX 11, Cablevision, History Channel's MonsterQuest,The New York Times, The New Yorker, and CNN as well as prominent regional newspapers and news stations.
As a native of Putnam County and long time resident of Beacon, NY, Shane is proud to have founded Mountain Scout Survival School in the Hudson Valley.
Bradley Young - Operations Director
Brad Young is the primary interface between business operations and the functional school of Mountain Scout Survival. A 2008 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and veteran of two rotations to the Middle East, Brad leverages real-world operational military experience as well as a MA in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) to enhance the practical presentation of survival skills to Mountain Scout Students.
Brad is an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast with a specialization in shooting sports. A native of Marlboro, NY, Brad is proud to be part of such a necessary business in the Hudson Valley.
Michelle Raffa - Customer Coordination Specialist
Michelle Raffa is the primary interface between students and Mountain Scout Survival School. Her extensive customer service experience and love for the outdoors makes her the perfect coordinator for anyone interested in Mountain Scout.
